Earlier, information has repeatedly surfaced that the new Cadillac Escalade will acquire the largest display on the front panel, the size of which is 38 ″. These are actually just words, and the display consists of three smaller screens. There are also innovations in terms of technical characteristics. In addition to the usual gasoline engines, the fifth generation Cadillac Escalade will get a diesel unit. Another nice touch is that the car will continue to be available in standard base and extended ESV versions.

Despite the fact that the 2020 Cadillac Escalade SUV has already been officially presented and even appeared in the list of cars on the official website of the company, the prices have not yet been announced, but the configurations are known. In total, the buyer will be offered 5 basic configurations, which differ from each other in technical stuffing and functionality, rather than in appearance:

According to company representatives, each of the listed trim levels of the new Cadillac Escalade is available in a standard or extended version (ESV). As they say, how many people, so many opinions about how the exterior of the new Cadillac Escalade of the fifth generation turned out. Initially, it was assumed that the car will be completely new, no matter how you look at it. In fact, at my discretion, the main changes were in the front and rear, the side remains recognizable as before. The manufacturer tried in every possible way to preserve the beloved design of the previous generation, while adding modern details that competitors have had for a long time.

The front end of the new Cadillac Escalade has indeed received major changes. Large, open radiator grille with mesh insert and V-shaped border at the bottom. The central part of the grille was nevertheless decorated with a classic shield, although it was assumed that this particular model would receive an updated emblem. The new optics give the SUV additional rigor. Instead of a vertical layout, the new headlights were positioned horizontally. The basic equipment will receive LED optics, but the top versions will be equipped with laser headlights, with a full functional set.

Even more anger to the new Cadillac Escalade is given by thin vertical running lights, they are also foglights, as well as an additional grille in the lower part of the bumper. According to many car enthusiasts, the running lights resemble the teeth of a predator preparing to attack. With additional parts of the front end, it is also worth noting a massive bumper and hood. The latter looks no less intimidating, thanks to the bends and stampings on the sides.

Now let's take a side view of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade. As already mentioned, unlike the front and rear, the side has received a minimum of changes. The designers have changed it to a minimum, adding only the most necessary details. Those who have already heard about the new generation of SUV will immediately pay attention to the door handles. Initially, it was assumed that they would be hidden and somewhat resemble Tesla's electric car. In fact, they decided to leave this detail in the classic version and not carry over from the prototype.

One of the revised details is the side mirrors. Unlike the previous generation, in the 5th Cadillac Escalade they were located on the door panel, thereby modernizing the overall look. From the functionality, you can note LED turn signal repeaters, an electric adjustment drive, automatic folding and memory, there will also be heated mirrors. Other refined details include austere lines that stretch from front to back, a chrome trim at the bottom of the doors and highlighted wheel arches. By the way, as for the wheels, starting from the basic configuration, the Cadillac Escalade is installed on 22 ″ alloy wheels with a new design. If desired, you can install larger diameter discs with a design of your choice.

Another point is the body color of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade. There is no reliable list of shades yet, but it will be opened only after the start of sales. Nevertheless, it is already reliably known that these will be strict, sustained shades. In particular, it will definitely be:

Completing the rear end of the Cadillac Escalade is an updated bumper. There are both pros and cons here. On the plus side, there is a massive size, strict lines and nothing more. On the downside, the glossy black edging at the bottom is likely to get dusty and scratched quickly. Another detail that stands out no less than the others is the pair of exhaust tips.

Finally, consider the roof of the new Cadillac Escalade. Depending on the configuration, the roof of the SUV can be solid, with a sunroof or panoramic. The roof rails are also installed as standard for attaching an additional trunk. The most unusual aspect was the shark fin antenna. It is not known for certain why the designers made such a decision, but instead of the classic location in the center of the roof at the rear, the antenna was placed in front of the driver's side.

Well, the exterior of the new 5th generation Cadillac Escalade is stylish, modern and a little scary. The designers have retained the main features of the 4th generation and added new elements. In general, the appearance of the novelty gives a positive impression, since this is not only a new design, but also a subtle hint of how other models of the company will look in the future.

The interior of the new SUV

The appearance of the Cadillac Escalade SUV has repeatedly surfaced on the Internet, but there were rumors and all sorts of information about the interior of the novelty. The most sensational is the large 38 ″ front panel display with OLED technology. Now let's look at everything in detail and in order to understand where the truth is and where it is not.

The main "deception" was the front panel. Initially, the manufacturer said that the new generation of Cadillac Escalade will receive the largest display of a multimedia system and a digital instrument panel, measuring 38 ″. It was after this statement that many competitors began to think that it was time to revise the design of the main panel, since a display of this size is simply difficult to manufacture, they do not say what to install and think over every detail.

In fact, the manufacturer of the 5th Cadillac Escalade cheated and instead of one, one-piece 38 ″ screen, installed three separate ones, all of which are made on the basis of OLED technology. For the digital instrument panel, a 14.2 ″ display was taken away, and here, to the left of the tidy, a 7.2 ″ display was placed, which is responsible for the characteristics of the car at the time of movement. The multimedia system got the most, it used a 16.9 ″ screen stretched horizontally. Thus, the manufacturer outwitted the competitors and introduced innovations to the new generation of the SUV. Thanks to OLED technology, the pixels are doubled, so the image quality of the displays is much better. Another addition to the multimedia system is the audio system, which has not only become modern, but will also surprise music lovers. In the basic configuration, the manufacturer installs 19 speakers, if this is not enough, then for a separate surcharge, you can install 36 speakers and 3 amplifiers designed for 28 channels to amplify sound. In addition to its main purpose, the audio system detects interference and outputs sound to those speakers from which the interference is located.

The operating systems Apple CarPlay and Android Auto served as the basis for the multimedia system. The system supports synchronization with gadgets, the ability to remotely control, as well as monitoring security systems and the state of the car.

The front panel of the Cadillac Escalade 2020 itself is made in three levels. The upper part is lined with leather, with high-quality stitching to match the interior color. A little below, a ledge is added, which is decorated with inserts made of natural wood, carbon fiber or polished aluminum. The manufacturer also did not save on the interior cladding of the Cadillac Escalade. In addition to natural inserts, the interior is available with leather or fabric seat upholstery. They also offer to choose the shade of the stitching and additional decoration elements (engraving, embroidery on the backs of the seats, etc.). There is little information yet on what shades the interior of the Cadillac Escalade will be available in. Known for black, beige, brown and white.

Finally, consider the Cadillac Escalade driver's seat. As already mentioned, the 5th generation panel will be digital only, starting from the basic configuration. The driver can choose from several ready-made options for the location of the instruments on the panel, or you can customize it as you wish. The steering wheel itself turned out to be massive and fits well in the hands, the side spokes were taken away under the function buttons, and the lower part was decorated with a V-shaped chrome insert.
