Chinese cars are increasingly entering the markets of different countries. So in Ukraine, a new liftback JAC J7 2021 was presented, which is likely to become a direct competitor to the Skoda Octavia. For the first time, a five-door production car JAC J7 was presented in the fall of 2019 in China. In the home market, the model received the name Jiayue A5, but for other markets it is J7. The dimensions and body of the novelty are well reminiscent of the Skoda Octavia, and the functionality inside the Chinese car is no worse, which automatically makes it a competitor.

The design of the new JAC J7 liftback was carried out by Daniel Galion, who previously worked for Alfa Romeo, and since 2010 moved to JAC. As with most Chinese cars, the choice of specifications is scarce. Under the hood of JAC J7, a turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 1.5 liters is installed. The power of the unit is 136 horses, and the maximum torque is 200 Nm. Front-wheel drive only. As for the transmission, for Ukraine the new JAC J7 will be supplied with a CVT only. However, in other countries, the vehicle may be equipped with a manual transmission.
The suspension of the new JAC J7 is quite simple, McPherson struts are installed in front, independent suspension at the rear. The braking system is fully disc, and an electric power steering wheel is installed for comfort. The list of equipment of the novelty is not inferior to European counterparts. On board the Ukrainian JAC J7 there are LED front optics and LED daytime running lights. The standard set also has electric side mirrors and heated mirrors.
The interior of the new JAC J7 will surprise you with a digital instrument panel with a 7 ″ display. The central part of the front panel was taken away under the vertical 10.4 ″ touchscreen display of the multimedia system. USB ports are now available for passengers in the first and second row of seats. On the other hand, it is worth noting the leather upholstery of the interior, LED lighting, climate control and sports seats.
The second row of JAC J7 seats is designed for three passengers, while there is enough free space for the average European. If necessary, the second row of seats can be folded in a 60/40 ratio, thereby increasing the space in the luggage compartment. The central liftback tunnel looks no less modern. At the very beginning, there are a couple of USB ports, then a CVT lever, next to it are buttons for controlling car systems and a pair of cup holders. A spacious armrest completes this whole set.
The interior of the liftback looks modern, without unnecessary details and elements that would have to overpay. Many control functions through the touchscreen display are accompanied by sound or voice prompts, but the disadvantage is that there is no vibration response, thereby simplifying control at the moment of pressing.
Safety and comfort systems for JAC J7 2021 include ABS + EBD, vehicle dynamic stabilization system, vehicle stability control, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX mount and six airbags. The official appearance of the JAC J7 is expected in the first half of 2021. At the same time, the list of complete sets and the cost of new items in Ukraine will most likely be announced.
