Previously, information on the Internet has repeatedly surfaced that a new Lexus NX crossover will soon appear. Now the insider has revealed the details of the novelty, to be more precise, the information was shared by the BestCar edition. The new Lexus NX will be based on the FF mid-size platform, which has been previously used in the latest generation of the Toyota RAV4 and Toyota Harrier crossover.
In terms of dimensions, the new Lexus NX will retain the dimensions of the wheelbase - 2690 mm, but in terms of other parameters it will differ from the co-platform ones. So in length, the crossover will be shorter by 90 mm, but 15 mm wider.

Despite the common Lexus NX platform with the same RAV4, the range of engines will be different. So in the basic configuration, a hybrid installation with a capacity of 218 horses is installed. The hybrid will be based on a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with torque transmission to the front axle. The buyer's choice will also offer the E-Four all-wheel drive system, where the torque to the rear axle is organized by an electric motor, while the basis is the same hybrid setup. The power of the all-wheel drive version of the Lexus NX will be 222 horses.
The top trim levels of the Lexus NX 2022 will also have their own peculiarities. They will be equipped with a hybrid installation with the ability to recharge. The power of such a unit will be 306 horses. Over time, the list of engines will be supplemented by another hybrid unit developed by Toyota. It is based on a 2.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 306 horses and 440 Nm of torque. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not yet revealed the dynamic characteristics of the new Lexus NX.
If we compare the parameters with the already presented Toyota RAV4, then the crossover accelerates to 96 km / h (60 mph) in 7.8 seconds based on a conventional hybrid setup. On the basis of a rechargeable unit, the acceleration from zero to 96 km / h is 5.8 seconds. According to various sources, the official premiere of the Lexus NX crossover will take place in 2022, and the price tag will be in the range of 38,200-43,000 euros for the basic configuration.
