Used Chinese foreign cars may appear on the Russian automotive market. The details of the innovation, the reaction of dealerships, service, prices have been named.

As it became known, used cars from the Middle Kingdom can officially appear on the territory of Russia, having arrived through Vladivostok. According to available statistics, this year China was allowed to export used cars. This rule affected not only cars of its own production, but also brands (America, Japan, Germany and other countries). The main requirement is that all these machines must be produced at factories in the PRC (located on the territory of the PRC).

It is reliably known that the first batch has already been assembled and sent for export, but the details have not yet been specified. It is not known exactly which brands and models will arrive in this batch on the territory of the Russian Federation. There is a high probability that used cars will be taken to Russia via Vladivostok. Many dealerships in this region have experience with right-hand drive vehicles. Moreover, in Primorye there is a postponement for the installation of the Era-Glonass system, which is so demanded in the central part of Russia.

For those who import a car for personal use, the deferral is valid until December 2019, but this rule does not apply to those who import a car for resale. Previously, the future owners of imported cars were obliged to install the ERA-Glonass system on their cars at the time of import. Because of this, queues were created at the border, car owners wasted a lot of time and money. With all this, the emergency assistance system still does not work at full capacity, and in some cases refuses to work at all on imported cars. That is why, in order to unload customs and reduce the time, for those who import no more than one car a year, for personal use was given a respite. According to various sources, a group of businessmen from the Middle Kingdom has already held meetings and discussed the processes of supplying cars with dealers from Vladivostok. The main topic was the supply and sale of used Chinese cars on the territory of the Russian Federation. Dealerships are often engaged in customs clearance of right-hand drive cars in Russia, and there are ready-made, well-established schemes for the transportation and sale of such cars to the central part of the country.

In 2018, 28.08 million new cars were sold in China, almost 14 million more were sold used cars. According to statistics, due to the resale of used cars, the purchase of new ones decreased by 2.8%. The decision of the state to export "used cars" to other countries will relieve the domestic market, so drivers will be able to buy new cars, which means that taxes on new cars will be paid.

The prices for aftermarket cars from China are significantly lower. The average price of a good non-cleared foreign car under 5 years old is about 510,000 rubles. In the case of buying such a car, do not forget about the customs duty (22%), recycling fee, as well as the payment of various taxes and safety certificates. Some dealerships and companies in Russia have already expressed their opinion and position on this innovation. For example, BMW has agreed to service at official dealerships, but it should be borne in mind that spare parts may not be available right away.

Toyota also agreed to service these vehicles, adding that regardless of where they were manufactured, the vehicles would be subject to a recall campaign. It should be borne in mind that they will not have a factory warranty. As for the Volkswagen company, they decided to refrain from commenting, leaving for later consideration of this situation. The first batch of 300 cars that left (with a total value of about $ 2.5 million) has already left China. The cars will go to Russia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Nigeria.
