Already in 2017, Honda Civic cars will become available to Europeans. To date, the main characteristics of the hatchback are known, but prices for the Civic have not yet been disclosed.
The production of cars of this version is carried out at factories in the UK. The exterior styling of Honda's Civic is quite different from previous models. Austere straight lines were added to it, which made the car more aggressive, stylish and somewhat sporty. Due to these lines in the Civic also improved aerodynamic properties. There is also a twin tailpipe center exhaust system and improved air intakes.
Another difference from the old models is considered to be a completely new platform, which allowed the dimensions of the Honda Civic to increase, but led to the fact that its weight decreased by about 15 kg. Manufacturers have left only the same boot volume - 478 liters. Thus, the length of the new Civic hatchback in the European version is 4497 mm, its width reaches 1800 mm, and finally the height is measured at 1421 mm. The distance between the axles of the wheels is 2700 mm. The torsional stiffness of the body has increased to 52%.
The changes also affected the interior of the Honda Civic. Thanks to the increased size, the interior has become more spacious and comfortable, and the distance between the front and rear seats has increased. Quality finishes and natural materials complement the stylish and austere exterior of the vehicle. The Civic model contains all the necessary modern devices and accessories. For example, the newest Connect proprietary multimedia complex with a touch screen measuring 7 inches was built for it, and in addition, several types of speaker systems are attached, the power of which is 160, 180 and 465 watts. In addition, there are standard functions here, such as cruise and climate control, a frontal collision warning system with automatic braking function, traffic sign recognition and blind spot monitoring.
The Civic hatchback keeps up with the current trends, and therefore features in-car platforms Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with the powerful Garmin navigation system, which is built with many useful options, such as detailed maps of various formats, 3D, as well as Eco-routing.
The technical equipment of the new Civic model is represented by two types of engine. The first type is the 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. It is capable of developing a capacity of 128 horsepower. The second petrol turbocharged engine has a volume of 1.5 liters. Its power is approximately 50 horsepower more, and thus it is 182 horsepower. The first engine is a three-cylinder, while the second is a four-cylinder. These engines of the Civic models are powered by the well-known proprietary Honda Earth Dreams Technology engine series. There are two types of gearboxes in the Civic: a six-speed manual, and also a variator.
Manufacturers are also planning to launch a diesel-powered Honda Civic. Its characteristics are already known today. So the volume will be 1.6 liters, and the power will be 119 horsepower. In addition, another version of the gasoline engine may appear, but with a volume of 2 liters. Accordingly, the power of this engine will be approximately 300 horsepower. The advantage of these engines will be the low emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The cost of the Civic hatchback will become known after the official presentation in Paris this October.
