As forecasters predict, on January 6, the weather will sharply worsen on the territory of Ukraine. Because of this situation, the authorities are planning to block highways in the main directions.
Winter is good in its own way, but there are times when the weather spoils all plans. The weather forecast for the next few days for residents of the southern regions of Ukraine is not so comforting. Forecasters predict heavy snowfall and gusts of wind, for other regions of Ukraine the thermometer will drop to -20 frost.
Residents of Odessa and Nikolaev regions will be the first to take the blow of the elements. In all likelihood, it is in these areas that the routes will be blocked in the main directions (Kiev, Kherson, Kirovograd, between the Odessa-Nikolaev regions). Wind gusts of 17-22 m / s will be an indicator of weather deterioration. For two or three days, snowfall of about 35 cm is predicted.As for the Carpathians, the likelihood of avalanches has increased here. Wind gusts in high mountainous areas will reach 15-30 m / s. At the moment, traffic on the Kiev-Chop highway is already limited, from 621 to 702 km. Trucks do not move from the city of Stryi and towards the border of the Transcarpathian region. The accumulation of wet snow in many areas of the Transcarpathian region led to the breakage of high-voltage wires, this also stopped the movement of cars.
Restrictions on the movement of vehicles are made specifically to avoid traffic congestion and thereby speed up the procedure for clearing roads from snow.
We will remind that in the year before last in the Nikolaev region the Ulyanovka-Nikolaev highway was cleaned from snow for about four days, which led to large congestion and a considerable number of accidents.
The media have repeatedly asked drivers to refrain from traveling out of town during snowfall, bad weather and, if possible, use public transport.
